Night in the Life     He looked up from lighting his cigarette. She was staring out of her bedroom window, half covered in shadows. Certain portions of her anatomy were rather attractively highlighted by the moonlight filtering through the room. His cigarette smoke wafted towards the open window, mingling with the moonlight and making her appear ephemeral. He took a deep drag and puffed it at her. She wrinkled her nose.
     “Yuck.”
     He ashed into an empty glass and ran his free hand down her back.

Copsical Scrap 1A bunch of cops are sitting in the break room, eating doughnuts and drinking coffee. They all have mustaches, and crew cuts, with the exception of April, who is the only woman present.
Don BRIGMAND: So then I tell the guy, put your hands behind

They all laugh hysterically.

Devin walks in. They all stop and look at him.

On Categorization of WritingI couldn't believe there was a sign. A sign that said "Welcome to Heaven," no less. No pearly gates, though. I was disappointed. I passed under that sign and read another. "ID cards necessary. Please proceed to Lobby." I checked in, and the lady looked at me very strangely when I told her my profession. "Aren't you a writer?" she asked, very seriously. "Uh-yes. So I haven't looked at DA in over a year. I've been channeling my creativity off of the internet and into actual production. This past summer, my writing partner Bob and I produced a film with a director from NYU. I expect I'll be promoting it shamelessly here, on myspace, facebook, etc. Anyway, Bob and I are in pre-production for a stage show at USF this summer, and since we're looking for feedback, I'll probably be posting bits and pieces that need work here.

So, in the interim between now and the last time I logged in to DA, I have:
-Had heart surgery.
-Moved in with a girl, then broken up with her.
-Gotten a cat.
-Made a movie.

And other incidentals.

All for now.
